Born in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture.
I have been running a restaurant for 30 years.
I have met people from various industries through my work, and I have come across situations where kimonos are treated as garbage at demolition sites, vacant house measures, and estate sorting, and I had a strong desire to change this.
And at the end of my time in management, I started “MAIN” with the desire to do what I love as a job.
Since childhood, I have been familiar with and loved Japanese traditions and culture due to my mother’s dancing, and I have been fascinated by the beauty of kimonos in particular. However, in modern times, it is difficult to put on and take care of kimonos, and the opportunities to wear them in everyday life are decreasing.
Therefore, with the theme of “Admiring kimonos because you wear them,” MAIN helps you decorate your room with kimonos. By using not only fabrics but also kimono hanging scrolls and kimono frames, you can express each room’s individuality.
MAIN’s mission is to spread the beauty of kimonos, Japan’s national costume, and connect them to the spirit of the SDGs.
